Spain: Online gaming GGR hits new record in Q2 2025, with casinos leading the growth

(Madrid).- Q2 2025 closed with total GGR of €410.26 million, up 2.79% quarter-over-quarter and up 18.60% year-over-year, driven by strong casino performance, increased deposits, and increased marketing.

In the second quarter of 2025, Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) reached €410.26 million, an increase of 2.79% compared to the previous quarter and 18.60% more than the same period in 2024.
Player deposits and withdrawals grew by 23.66% and 28.90% year-over-year, respectively, although deposits decreased slightly -0.36% quarter-over-quarter. Marketing spending decreased -0.20% quarter-over-quarter, while new accounts decreased -11.64%.
GGR by segment:
Casino: €216.37 million (52.74%), +6.53% vs. previous quarter, +25.98% year-over-year
Betting: €171.40 million (41.78%), +2.73% vs. Previous quarter, +18.21% year-over-year
Poker: €19.11 million (4.66%), -25.11% vs. previous quarter, -25.23% year-over-year
Bingo: €3.37 million (0.82%), -6.91% vs. previous quarter
Casino growth is explained by slot machines (+33.58% year-over-year), blackjack (+9.49% quarter-over-quarter), live roulette (+5.61% quarter-over-quarter), and conventional roulette (+0.47% quarter-over-quarter). Sports betting increased by 24.55% in conventional bets, while live betting decreased by -33.24%.
Marketing expenditure was €164.50 million, with increases in sponsorship (+311.92% year-over-year), promotions (+33.21% year-over-year), and advertising (+42.96% year-over-year).
The average number of monthly active accounts was 1,704,178, decreasing -2.41% quarter-over-quarter but increasing 21.04% year-over-year, while the average number of new accounts was 168,284, decreasing -11.64% quarter-over-quarter but increasing 11.68% year-over-year.
Of the 77 licensed operators, 64 had at least one active license in Q2 2025:
